How do you feel about mergers?

Many of our homes in SWTOR have been changed around with the new server transfers. Did you move? How do you feel about the consolidations? Do you hate the queues? Did you lose names or chars? And where is everyone based now?

Well, I finally got off my ass and moved to Ebon Hawk! I'm a little torn, TBH - I wanted a more populated server, but I'm not sure I wanted EVERYONE in the same place, you know? And there's the slots thing. Need. More. Slots.

Still, I'm trying to be positive about it because this game has enough whiny people as it is =)

For now it looks like my guild isn't moving. We got in and formed up right at launch, so if we move we'll almost certainly need a new guild name, and we'll probably lose many of our character names. Which may be a silly thing to care about, but there it is.

I'm not moving unless they make me - that is, actually merge servers. I don't want to lose my characters' names and I don't group, except with friends, anyway. (And never have. Terminally shy MMO players unite! Wait...)

If they leave the ghost town servers to those of us who don't mind, while the grouping types get their groups on the more populated servers, then this is all for the good. If they eventually force us all onto other servers, they should probably have just done that. It'd be irritating, but at least it would be up front.

So, still playing on Kath Hound (Imperial) and Vrook Lamar (Republic) and will continue to do so as long as those servers exist. Because I am stubborn like that. :P

As a sometimes-RPer and an altaholic, I am really, really not okay with only being able to have 8 characters on a server where I might actually be able to RP with people (i.e. decently populated and in a timezone where anyone is awake during the hours I can play), but I'm holding out hope they'll fix that issue.

I lost the name "Dustil" which breaks my heart. I can only hope that whoever is using it, USES IT and that the character has sideburns.

I actually lost all but two of my names (one of which had been mispelled in the first place and I would have loved to rename), but thankfully kept my legacy name.

I told you I lost "Nadir", right? Well, today I bumped into someone on Hoth who said that they knew Ebon Hawk's "Nadir", and that he's a nice guy. SO. I will accept that.

My guild decided to move from Sanctum of the Exalted to Ebon Hawk, so I followed. I got super, super lucky -- none of my main characters' names were taken, and I was able to keep my awesome Legacy name.

I think I'll enjoy the soft merger? I still need to reconnect with my guild, but more people means easier pick-up groups and a more vibrant market, so I'm down.

It looks like I'm moving to Ebon Hawk after all. Haven't moved my mains yet, but I was able to move an alt and claim my legacy name, which is the only one I'm really attached to. So maybe I'll see you around the server!

My friends/guilds finally moved, since they've made it clear it's not optional, which means I finally moved.

I now play Republic on Begeren Colony. (Had to rename one of my grouping characters, so eh. Who knows, maybe the name change will help. *not holding breath*) And Empire on Ebon Hawk. (Had to rename Kyrian to Ky'rian, which still falls into the *shrug* category of things. And I'll have to come up with a new Legacy name there, which is okay as the first was halfway a joke anyway.)

I still think they've handled this weirdly. If you're going to do a server merge and shut down, just say so.

Since this is actually possible now, if any one does run into me and I ignore them that is because either I'm having social issues (people are scary!) or I completely missed that someone tried to talk to me. My apologies in advance.
