Legacy stuff: there was a really good dev post on exactly this subject. From what I can figure, it's an either/or sort of thing: either you get, say, a pureblood Sith to level 50 and thereby unlock the species for all classes, or you pay 1.5 million credits. However – and on a slightly confusing note &ndash there are some exceptions: Heroic abilities can only be unlocked through leveling, while shipboard market access is Legacy-level gated, but requires credits to unlock.
As for server – I'm on Sanctum of the Exalted, which is an East Coast RP server. However, I live on the West Coast; I joined that served with the sole intent of joining the Republic Mercy Corps/Imperial Mercenary Corps, a really awesome, casual-friendly guild. I'm currently really into my Sith Inquisitor, but I've been meaning to start an Imperial Agent.
